Husband – Grow in Grace and Knowledge

unnamed-1

There are so many seasons in life, and within each season so many changes! In this current season of life there can feel like a lot on my husband and my plate. Things we have said yes to. All these yes’s are good yes’s, they are things we enjoy or are needs for our family. But as we have been chatting about our schedule we both feel we can tend to neglect the BEST YES. The Best YES is spending time in the word with God. Discovering his calling on our lives, growing in his grace and knowledge EVERYDAY.

See sadly this is the yes in our lives that gets passed over. IF you were to ask me why, I would tell you I have no idea! BUT if I was to think through it I think it is because this is the area of my life I “FEEL” like no one depends on me to do. Let me explain, my children DEPEND on me to feed them, my baby DEPENDS on me to change his diaper, my family DEPENDS on me to do laundry (going naked to look wouldn’t go over real well). It is so good to honestly reflect on the “reason” I think it gets passed over BECAUSE what I realize when I am finally honest with myself is I am missing my lifeline. I am that passenger on the airplane running around attaching my families oxygen mask and soon my air is going to run out.

Now all these things I do like food, diapers, laundry are all good yes’s and I will continue to do them BUT what I need to do is put my mask on first.

Unfortunately this trait of looking out for everyone else before myself is not just me, my husband as well has this personality.

SO my prayer is my husband will grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ EVERYDAY. Some way or another, finding a way to connect with God, deepen is relationship through committing his time to connect.

Lord I pray I my husband would grow in grace and knowledge of you EVERYDAY. He is a man who has integrity, follow through on his commitments, works hard for those he loves, shows dedication to his family. I pray these traits and fruits you have bore into him will start to help allow himself to put the biggest yes first: YOU! Thank you Lord for your gentle nudging and guidance.

2 Peter 3:18

18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

Join me in praying that our biggest YES can be to the commitment of Christ, growing in knowledge, grace, truth, joy and love.

  1. I so agree with what u said about putting everyone else first. The analogy about putting on everyone else face mask first was very apt.
