Working as Unto the Lord

unnamed-1

Working as unto the Lord can be a convicting thing. I use this expression with my kids a lot, especially when it comes to cleaning or completing a task. It is important to make sure we are hard-working and yet having a happy heart while completing these task. Today, I want to take the time to pray for my husband to have this attitude of doing all he does for the the Lord, even at work and with his talents, passions and pursuits.

My husband is in general a VERY hard-working man. But the specific element I want to pray for him for in his work would be Glorify God by making sure his heart would be in the right place while he is working. There is so many daily activities and circumstances that can drag us away from the purpose and reason for the work we do, especially at work. Having a joyful heart does not only help our perspective at work, an encouragement to those we work with but it also Glorifies God!

In addition, I want to pray that my husband’s passions and pursuits would Glorify God. He is a very smart man, who enjoys learning and trying different things. I pray my husband would see that no matter what we do we can do it as unto the Lord.

Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatever work you do, do it with all your heart. Do it for the Lord and not for men.”RaisingRices copy

Dear Lord, I pray my husband works with all his heart as unto the Lord. I pray that his heart would respond in working for the joy of the Lord. I pray that he would glorify you in all he does with his many talents! Thank you for my wonderful husband and the gifts you have given. Thank you Lord!

Join me as we pray for our own husbands and those around us that they would be encouraged in their talents, that they view their work in a purpose of Glorifying God.
